Significant differences were observed between CXCL12 and NF-L accuracy in the differential diagnosis between amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis–mimic disease, with CXCL12 being significantly more accurate in differentiating myelopathies (ΔArea 0.2861 ± 0.0684, z = 4.1841, P = 0.000; Fig. 1D) and OMD (ΔArea 0.3084 ± 0.096, z = 3.211, P = 0.0013; Fig. 1F). This evidence concerns the gene NEFL and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
