Conversely, when looking at hypertension, endothelial-committed CD34 + KDR + cells were significantly increased (~ 4 fold) and participants taking ACE inhibitors also showed an increase (~ 3–6 fold) in both undifferentiated (CD34+, CD133+, CD34 + CD133+) and endothelial-committed (CD34 + KDR+) cell numbers. This evidence concerns the gene PROM1 and hypertensive disorder.
