Homogeneous E-cadherin expression was decreased in EH without atypia [3]. This shows that loss of E-cadherin is due to cadherin-catenin complex impairment that occurs very early in the hyperplastic process. Yang et al. in 2005 studied the expression of E-cadherin and catenins in EH and carcinoma [10]. This evidence concerns the gene CDH17 and carcinoma.
