As a key TF in cerebellar development, dysregulation of RORA in Purkinje cells reduces expression of genes controlled by RORA, which determines disease severity in adult spinocerebellar ataxia type 1 (SCA1) mice.56 We also identified motif activity of ELF1 as having significant positive correlation with expression of its gene targets in mature granule cells. This evidence concerns the gene RORA and spinocerebellar ataxia type 1.
