As a key TF in cerebellar development, dysregulation of RORA in Purkinje cells reduces expression of genes controlled by RORA, which determines disease severity in adult spinocerebellar ataxia type 1 (SCA1) mice.56 We also identified motif activity of ELF1 as having significant positive correlation with expression of its gene targets in mature granule cells. The gene discussed is ELF1; the disease is spinocerebellar ataxia type 1.
