CALM1 is related to tau phosphorylation and neuronal function58,59 and TMEM160, localized in the inner mitochondrial membrane, may suppress reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and stabilize mitochondrial proteins.60 Further study of the candidate regulatory elements we identified for those DEGs could improve our understanding of how its gene targets become dysregulated in AD/ADRD cerebellum and affect disease progression. The gene discussed is CALM1; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
