However, myocardial ADAM17 knockout mice develop less myocardial dysfunction associated with diet-induced diabetes, and it would be interesting to explore the role of ERBB3 in this phenotype.38 Irrespective of this uncertainty, we show that circulating ERBB3 can define people with early myocardial dysfunction and at risk of progression to HF.
