Validation of IL-1β at a level > 1.1 for discrimination between post-NAFLD hepatic fibrosis and non-fibrotic liver in patients with different body mass indices and metabolic risk factors showed a sensitivity of 88.33%, specificity of 96.26%, PPV of 96.4%, NPV of 88%, and accuracy of 92.3%, with a significant p-value. Here, IL1B is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
