Whilst an upregulation of mPGES-2 in the pyramidal neurons of the brain has been found from a small study of sporadic and familial AD patients [125], it was suggested by Sluter and colleagues (2023) [126] that most AD-related neuroinflammation is largely mediated by mPGES-1 and EP2 signalling. The gene discussed is PTGES2; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
