,22,23,63 Consistent with these findings, we identified a significant increase in LOXL2 expression within serum sampled at time of diagnosis of patients with IPF when compared to control subjects (Figure 5A); while assessing LOXL2 expression within our recently generated digital spatial transcriptome of human control and fibrotic lung tissue,36 we identify significantly increased expression within fibroblast foci (Figure 5B). Here, LOXL2 is linked to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
