GRM5 and neuropathic pain: These data suggest that regulation of pain thresholds by mGlu5 receptors in the ventrobasal thalamus and the two more ventral mPFC subregions is not redundant, but rather complementary, and that a connection between these three regions is a main target for systemic mGlu5 NAMs in the induction of analgesia in models of neuropathic pain.
