To investigate the intrinsic roles of ICAM-1 in regulating NSCLC progression, we chose two NSCLC cell lines A549 and NCI-H1650, which showed significant higher levels of ICAM-1 expression than human bronchial epithelial cell line 16HBE (Supplementary Fig. S2), and knocked down ICAM-1 expression with short hairpin RNA (shRNA) in these cells (Supplementary Fig. S3). Here, ICAM1 is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
