Annexin A2 (ANXA2) plays a crucial role in linking inflammation to liver metabolic disorders and damage and has been shown to block AMPK/mTOR pathway-mediated lipophagy, promoting lipid accumulation and liver damage, making ANXA2 a pathological predictor and promising therapeutic target for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease [26]. Here, MTOR is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
