Phospho-KID of CREB interacts with the KIX domain of CBP, which is critical for the regulation of LTM and circadian activity (Chatterjee et al., 2020), whereas CBP was shown to improve cognitive impairments in an Alzheimer’s disease mouse model by increasing BDNF level and CREB activation (Wood et al., 2005; Nagahara et al., 2009; Creighton et al., 2022). The gene discussed is CREBBP; the disease is early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
