The overexpression and pathogenic role of IL-8 and IL-24 is not only highlighted in COPD but has also been shown in several inflammatory conditions such as allergic skin inflammation, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriasis, lupus, and cardiovascular disease exacerbating further disease development (De Rubis et al., 2024[2]). Here, CXCL8 is linked to psoriasis.
