Genes associated with oxidative phosphorylation were downregulated upon M. tuberculosis infection in macrophages, as described previously (35); however, in SP110-knockdown macrophages, they were upregulated during the infection (Fig. 4; Fig. S5), indicating that SP110 negatively regulates the gene expression associated with oxidative phosphorylation during M. tuberculosis infection.
