Myeloid ecotropic viral integration site 1 (Meis1) is a member of the three amino acid loop extension homeodomain transcription factor family, which has been intensively studied in haematopoiesis and leukaemia,[5] cardiac regeneration,[6] cancer,[7] and embryonic development.[8] Through transcriptional control of downstream targets, Meis1 is involved in metabolic regulation,[9] reactive oxygen species (ROS) production,[10] as well as other biological processes. This evidence concerns the gene MEIS1 and leukemia.
