Reduced albumin (χ2 = 12.915, df = 1, P = 0.002), increased total globulins (χ2 = 23.270, df = 1, P < 0.0001), increased total proteins (χ2 = 11.110, df = 1, P = 0.004), leukocytosis (χ2 = 7.132, df = 1, P = 0.028), thrombocytosis (χ2 = 10.207, df = 1, P = 0.006), and reduced A/G ratio (χ2 = 24.453, df = 1, P < 0.0001) were significantly associated with L. infantum positivity. This evidence concerns the gene ALB and thrombocytosis disease.
