The only objective sign of infection found in mice inoculated with 40Fp8 was the presence of virus in liver samples from 40Fp8#2 mouse taken on day 5 in the second experiment, with a pattern of results (isolation of infectious virus, positive Cq in RT-qPCR and very weak staining of viral antigen) quite similar to that of samples taken on day 2 from animals inoculated with rG1 or rMP-12 (Fig 4B, 4C and 4F), which were expected to die in the following days. The gene discussed is PPP1R3A; the disease is infection.
