Previous animal experiments have reported the anticancer effects of Lut in lung, colorectal, liver, ovarian, prostate, bladder and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis‐related liver cancers3, 4, 5, 6, 7 In the previous study, we had also reported that Lut decreases dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase (DPYD) and phospoho‐STAT3 expression in pancreatic cancer cells as one of its mechanisms of activity.8 The gene discussed is DPYD; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
