C3 and glomerulonephritis: The diagnosis of IRGN can be made based on the presence of any three out of the following five parameters: 1) definitive evidence of infection at the time of or just preceding the glomerulonephritis, 2) hypocomplementemia, 3) exudative glomerulonephritis, 4) C3 dominant immunofluorescence, and 5) subepithelial hump-shaped deposits on electron microscopy [12].
