With the broad availability of conventional and novel atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk-lowering therapies, including LDL cholesterol–lowering agents (statins, bempedoic acid, and proprotein convertase subtilisin-kexin type 9 inhibition), glucagon-like peptide-1 agonists, sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors, anti-inflammatory therapies (colchicine), and omega-3 fatty acids, we have ample tools to lower risk in these individuals, once identified. Here, PCSK9 is linked to atherosclerosis.
