INS and diabetes mellitus: The legislation evaluated in our study was amended and effective in January 2022, capped out-of-pocket spending on insulin to $100 for a 30-day supply for all prescriptions and added access to 1 emergency prescription within a 12-month period at a cost not to exceed $35 for a 30-day supply for eligible individuals.34 Thus, these changes could have expanded access to insulin for more individuals with diabetes and warrant future studies.
