Endogenous S-acylation of MAVS was detected in A549 cells, and the level was not affected by the stimulation of RLR signaling using polyinosinic-polycytidylic acid (poly(I:C)), a synthetic analog of double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) that mimics viral RNA to trigger the RLR signaling, or influenza A virus (IAV, H1N1 strain A/PR/8/34) infection (SI Appendix, Fig. S1A) (33). The gene discussed is MAVS; the disease is infection.
