The independent predictors of AF recurrence were female gender (adjusted hazard ratio: 1.91, 95% confidence interval: 1.36–2.67, p < .001), alcohol intake ≥20 g/day (adjusted hazard ratio: 1.49, 95% confidence interval: 1.03–2.15, p = .035; Figure 2B), brain natriuretic peptide level >100 pg/mL (adjusted hazard ratio: 1.59, 95% confidence interval: 1.14–2.22, p = .006), and hyperuricemia (adjusted hazard ratio: 1.64, 95% confidence interval: 1.12–2.40, p = .011; Figure 1B).
