Namely, ameta-analysis of 11 studies covering 1837 patients(ranging from 63 to 353 patients in each study)revealed that deleterious (null) genotypes of GSTT1and double null genotypes of GSTT1 and GSTM1 arerelated to the reduced CR rate, progression-free survival,and OS, especially in the Asian population [40].Only one study on 106 Italian AML patients (86% newly diagnosed) [41], out of seven studies evaluatedin Caucasians [5], showed a lower CR rate, EFS, andOS in null genotypes of GSTT1 or GSTM1. Here, GSTM1 is linked to acute myeloid leukemia.
