INS and post-traumatic stress disorder: Among patients aged 18 to 49 years, but not among those aged 50 to 80 years, no longer meeting PTSD criteria was associated with a lower likelihood of starting insulin (HR, 0.69 [95% CI, 0.53-0.88]; P = .003) and a lower risk of all-cause mortality (HR, 0.39 [95% CI, 0.19-0.83]; P = .008).
