Interestingly, six sites of sepsis-associated RNA editing alterations induced by LPS (Fig. 7A–F), especially the missense editing including Grik2 p.M620V, Flna p.S2331G and Ptprn p.I783M, were rescued by fullerenol pre-treatment (Fig. 7A–C), which further underlined the relationship between RNA editing and SAE, especially depression. This evidence concerns the gene PTPRN and major depressive disorder.
