Padi2 expression was significantly increased in septic patients and mice.34,35 Inhibition of PADI2 modulated macrophage polarization to the M2 phenotype36 and significantly improved survival in LPS-induced sepsis in mice.37 In addition, PADI2 contributes to oligodendrocyte differentiation and myelination and could thus be involved in motor and cognitive functions.38 The current study shows that PADI2 was differentially expressed in the hippocampus during sepsis. This evidence concerns the gene PADI2 and Sepsis.
