The main phenotypes of cardiomyopathy include hypertrophic, dilated, non-dilated left ventricular, restrictive, arrhythmogenic right ventricular, Takotsubo, and left ventricular noncompaction cardiomyopathies. A significant proportion of dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) cases represents patients with genetic mutations, most commonly titin gene truncating variants (TTNtv). This evidence concerns the gene TTN and familial dilated cardiomyopathy.
