IL-6 is an important inflammatory factor in EMs, and an elevated level of IL-6 in women with EMs reduces the cytolytic activity of NK cells (Kang et al., 2014), activates macrophages, and amplifies angiogenesis (Ayaub et al., 2019; Song et al., 2020). The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is eosinophilia-myalgia syndrome.
