KLF4 and neoplasm: The current knowledge points towards KLF4 as a tumor suppressor in both solid and hematological tumors, where the gene is silenced by means of a variety of mechanisms including DNA hypermethylation, interactions with miRNAs, histone modifications and others, described subsequently in the manuscript (Guan et al., 2010; Frazzi et al., 2017; Frazzi et al., 2022).
