A recent review and meta-analysis reported that the incidence of brain metastases (BM) in metastatic breast cancer (MBC) patients is higher in patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-positive (HER2+) and triple negative breast cancer than in those with hormone receptor positive/HER2 negative breast cancer (31% and 32% vs 15%, respectively) [1]. The gene discussed is ERBB2; the disease is breast cancer.
