Interestingly, in our AKILOS subgroup, 34.3% of cases developed AKI within day 1 of admission, and in the AKI MORTALITY RISK subgroup, 59.3% of cases (361 out of 609) showed AKI development within day 1 of admission, suggesting that perhaps timely albumin could be protective in this patient population, irrespective of when AKI develops. The gene discussed is ALB; the disease is acute kidney injury.
