Additionally, the genes targeted by the novel lncRNAs with putative enhancer features exhibited a bias for enrichment on the X chromosome and these genes with high-frequency presences were significantly associated with the vital pathways related to the proliferation and metastasis of breast cancer, such as vesicle-mediated transport, the VEGFA-VEGFR2 signaling pathway, intrinsic apoptotic signaling pathway, and negative regulation of cell cycle.
