The organogold (III) compound Auphen, [Au(1,10-phenanthroline)Cl2]Cl, and its derivatives (CCON and CNHN) have been shown to have a potent effect in blocking AQP3 peroxiporin activity, reducing H2O2 permeability in melanoma [126] and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma cells [14] and impacting various biologic processes such as cell adhesion, proliferation, and migration. Here, AQP3 is linked to pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.
