Many chemokines are implicated in the pathogenesis of MS [8,9,10]; however, only CCL20 (C-C motif ligand 20; MIP 3-α, macrophage inflammatory protein-3; LARC, liver and activation regulated chemokine), CXCL8 (IL(interleukin)-8, C-X-C motif ligand 8) and CXCL10 (C-X-C motif ligand 10; IP-10, interferon -induced protein 10 kDa) expressions are induced by EBV in conditions other than MS [11,12,13,14,15,16]. The gene discussed is CXCL8; the disease is myeloid sarcoma.
