To demonstrate the translational efficacy of the C-X-C chemokine receptor type 4 (CXCR4)- small interfering RNAs (siRNAs)/dextran-spermine NPs in a mouse colon carcinoma cell line systemically administered to a mouse model of colorectal cancer, immunohistochemistry for the presence of CXCR4 was performed on distal ileum and colon slices using HRP-conjugated probes revealed with DAB. The gene discussed is CXCR4; the disease is colorectal cancer.
