Malnourished HD patients also had lower leptin (10.6 ± 15.2 ng/mL vs. 20 ± 23 ng/mL; p = 0.01) and myostatin levels (3035.4 ± 1467 pg/mL vs. 4089.7 vs. 2342 pg/mL; p = 0.03) compared to HD patients with correct nutritional status. This evidence concerns the gene LEP and Huntington disease.
