In a pre-specified meta-analysis of patients with chronic heart failure from five randomized clinical trials—DAPA-HF, EMPEROR-Reduced, SOLOIST-WHF, DELIVER, and EMPEROR-Preserved—SGLT2 inhibitors were found to significantly reduce the risk of mortality and worsening heart failure, as well as improve patient symptoms and overall health status across the full spectrum of the ejection fraction [7,8,9,10,11,12]. Here, SLC5A2 is linked to heart failure.
