To date, more than 50 modified genes have been examined in ALS, but they are primarily linked to mutations in the SOD1, TARDBP, and FUS/TLS genes, encoding Cu/Zn superoxide dismutase-1, transactive response DNA-binding protein 43 (TDP-43), fused in sarcoma/translocated in liposarcoma, respectively [39,153]. This evidence concerns the gene TARDBP and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
