Strikingly, disruption of Foxo1 increased YAP binding to the NICD in Foxo1M-KO but not in Foxo1FL/FL macrophages (Fig. 5b), suggesting that the YAP–NICD interaction plays a distinct role in the mechanism of macrophage Foxo1 signaling-mediated immune regulation in NASH progression. This evidence concerns the gene FOXO1 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
