Numerous studies have demonstrated the role of TGF-β in the development and progression of various diseases, including chronic kidney disease (CKD), neoplastic diseases, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), cystic fibrosis (CF), IgA nephropathy, asthma, and COPD [4,8,9]. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
