[125] found that M. officinalis bark extract (MBE) decreases the activation of the proinflammatory cytokine IL6, suppresses necroptosis indicator expression (pRIP3 and pMLKL) in mice with colitis brought on by DSS, reduces necroptosis-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, and lowers COX2 expression, a target protein of ROS. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and colitis.
