By inhibiting the phosphorylation of key proteins in the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway, PTEN controls numerous cancer cellular processes, including survival, proliferation, energy metabolism and chemoresistance (Li et al., 2016; Nan et al., 2018; Ding et al., 2019; Ashrafizadeh et al., 2020).Therefore, we speculate that there is a certain interaction between CBX2 and PTEN in gliomas, thus indicating that CBX2 regulates the AKT/mTOR pathway. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and central nervous system cancer.
