DRD2 and Parkinsonism: The fact that some TAAR1 agonists, including compound 65, appear to exert antipsychotic-like properties without potent antagonism at the D2 dopamine receptor makes them particularly suitable for the treatment of patients with Parkinson’s disease psychosis or Lewy body dementia because such patients also require pro-dopaminergic therapies to control their parkinsonism.
