INS and diabetic ketoacidosis: First, EAs in this study were all using state-of-the-art diabetes care technology (ie, insulin pumps and CGMs) and self-described themselves as well-managed and independent in their diabetes care, which differs from reports that EAs are less likely than other age groups to use diabetes technologies consistently [20,21] and more likely to experience suboptimal adherence [16,17], glycemic control [18], and higher rates of diabetic ketoacidosis [19].
