The results of the regression analysis showed that after adjusting EGF for age, neutrophils, lymphocytes, platelets and other factors, the NLR (β = .2232, p = .0353) and PLR (β = .2117, p = .0411) values predictive of inflammation in patients with severe COVID‐19 show that serum EGF concentrations are significant predictors of inflammation in this condition. This evidence concerns the gene EGF and COVID-19.
