Genetic studies have demonstrated the association of polymorphisms and allelic variants of ANP (Nppa), BNP (Nppb), and GC‐A/NPRA (Npr1) with a family history of hypertension, increased left ventricular mass, and cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in humans.11, 12, 13, 14.
