The miR‐133 family of genes appear to be dysregulated in hypertension and CVD18, 24; however, the underlying interactive roles of specific HDAC isoforms, modified histone marks, miR‐133, and genetic and epigenetic signaling mechanism(s) in the control of blood pressure (BP), renal injury, and disease pathology remain unclear. The gene discussed is HDAC9; the disease is hypertensive disorder.
