Du and Liao., in their case of cervical SCC with contiguous spread to the endometrium, found immunohistochemical expressions of p16, p63, and CK5/6 in the cervix and endometrium lesions, which suggests an etiological relationship between the two lesions and supports the idea that endometrial SCC is due to the spread of in situ cervical SCC [14]. The gene discussed is KRT5; the disease is cervical carcinoma.
