Upregulated cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1 A (p21), cleaved cysteinyl aspartate specific proteinase (caspase-3/caspases-9), and PARP but downregulated cyclin-dependent kinase 4 (CDK4) and X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein expression concomitant with the suppression of growth in breast carcinoma cells, also induced excessive ROS levels in BC cells. This evidence concerns the gene CASP9 and breast cancer.
