There were statistically significant differences between survivors and non-survivors in severe pneumonia on the basis of age, gender, complications with diastolic hypotension, ALI/ARDS, septic shock, MOF, acute kidney injury, metabolic acidosis, the comorbidity of a neoplasm, and laboratory tests such as Scr, BUN, CRP, leukopenia, sodium, albumin, PaO2/FiO2, arterial blood PH, gram-negative microorganism, and multilobar or bilateral involvement. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and acute kidney injury.
