To validate our whole-genome screens, we used CRISPR/Cas9 mutagenesis with two independent sgRNAs to mutate NF1, SOCS3, and VGLL4 in H226 and H2052 cells, as well as a third mesothelioma cell line, MSTO-211H, which harbors inactivating mutations in both LATS1 and LATS2 (Miyanaga et al, 2015). The gene discussed is NF1; the disease is mesothelioma.
